About PHAENOS

PHAENOS is a deep-tech startup developing a physics-informed 3D sensing modality. Our goal is to bring reliable depth information to everyday environments such as roads, bridges, buildings and industrial sites, where conventional LiDAR can be unsuitable due to operational and deployment constraints.

The team combines expertise in laser physics, optics, electronics and embedded systems, with experience in European R&D projects and prototype deployment.

Technology

LED based depth sensing

Rather than relying on time-of-flight laser ranging, PHAENOS uses high power LEDs, a tailored optical design, and image-based acquisition to estimate depth and reconstruct 3D structure through physics-informed signal processing.

This approach keeps the optics and electronics simple, while targeting the performance required for monitoring and inspection rather than autonomous driving.
